Kotoko is scheduled to present Congress with a request to permit the registration of more international players.

At the forthcoming Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Asante Kotoko, a major player in the Ghana Premier League, will make a significant request.

To change Article 26(5) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations, which limits the number of foreign players a team may register and field on match day, the proposal would look to Congress for support.

A team can only have five non-Ghanaian nationals in their squad; however, only three of them may be included in the matchday squad.

Saddick Adams of Angel Sports reports that Asante Kotoko favors changing the rule.

To enable clubs to register and field more international players at the GFA Congress next month, the club plans to start the amending procedure.

Asante Kotoko has already signed three international players this month.

Samba O'Neil, a recent acquisition from Congo, was named Man of the Match on Wednesday night after his outstanding play in the inaugural Democracy Cup helped the Porcupine Warriors defeat Hearts of Oak 2-1.

Investigations have shown that Asante Kotoko intends to sign more foreign players to bolster the team's roster before the 2024–2025 football season.
