Samuel Opoku Nti, the former CEO of Asante Kotoko, is optimistic that his team will surprise Hearts of Oak in the forthcoming Democracy Cup.

The highly anticipated game, which will commemorate 30 years of democratic practice in Ghana, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 17th at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 18:00GMT.

Club legend Opoku Nti, speaking on Asempa FM, stated that he thought Asante Kotoko might defeat their opponents for the third time in history.

"Hearts of Oak will undoubtedly lose to Asante Kotoko on Wednesday. This season, the team has been bringing in players of the highest caliber," he confirmed.

Opoku Nti acknowledged past errors and emphasized the Interim Management Committee's attempts to make corrections.

"We are determined to achieve three successive wins over Hearts of Oak, a feat rarely accomplished in any season," he said. "While Hearts of Oak holds a notable 4-0 record against Asante Kotoko, we aim to level that statistic."

In the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak twice in a row, paving the way for another exciting matchup.

Parliamentarians and former Black Stars players will compete at the same venue before the main event.
