Following her arrest, Charlo was accused of three misdemeanors. According to a story on ESPN, public relations officer Chad Rogers of the Pearland Police Department stated that three of the charges were driving while drunk, leaving the scene of an accident, and dodging police.
Charlo was driving his red Lamborghini when he got into an accident with another car on Monday night at 6:41 p.m., according to the police.
A fight broke out after the collision, and Charlo left the scene instead of waiting for the police to arrive. A cop in a marked car with bright lights approached Charlo after determining his whereabouts.
According to TMZ, Charlo's lawyer, Kent Schaffer, there were no drugs involved in the collision, and no one else was gravely hurt either.
"Jermall has received instruction. He has not used medicines of any kind. "We are hopeful that a good solution will be found."
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman expressed support on social media on Tuesday in a message.
The WBC has offered Jermall Charlo support during his challenging moments about mental wellness and will keep doing everything in its power to do so.
Sulaiman has been under pressure to revoke Charlo's championship for some time now, and last week, he gave in to the pressure when his WBC middleweight title was revoked because he hadn't defended it since June 2021.
Carlos Adames, the interim WBC champion, has been promoted to the title of complete world champion in light of the arrest. The WBC also clarified in their statement that they want to rank Charlo in a different weight.
In November, Charlo defeated Jose Benavidez Jr. by a score of points. It was his first match in 29 months, and it may be his last one for some time as he works through this charge sheet.
