Over Punjab Kings, Kohli leads RCB to an IPL victory by 60 runs.

With a magnificent 92 off 47 balls, Virat Kohli helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeat Punjab Kings by 60 runs, preserving their remote chances of qualifying for the Indian Premier League playoffs.

The leading run scorer in the IPL, Virat Kohli, hit six sixes and seven fours but was caught at deep extra cover by Arshdeep Singh, preventing him from reaching a century.

At the Dharamsala Stadium, the Royal Challenge of Bengal amassed a massive 241-7, with Australia's Cameron Green scoring 46 and Rajat Patidar smashing six sixes in a 23-ball 55.

As Punjab began their reply, South Africa's Rilee Rossouw and England's Jonny Bairstow, who smashed 27 off 16 balls, shared 65 for the second wicket.

But as Sam Curran's team crumbled after dismissing Rossouw for an incredible 61 off 27 balls in the ninth over, they were bowled out for 181 in 17 overs.

Even though RCB is currently in seventh place, two points behind the Chennai Super Kings in fourth place, Punjab's defeat was their eighth in 12 games and meant their elimination from the league.

Their campaign came to a "frustrating and disappointing" finish, according to Captain Curran.

"A lot of positive signs but not enough to get over the line and get the wins we needed," the England all-rounder continued. Sad but with a lot to learn."
