Prosper Narteh Ogum was destined to work for us, according to Edmund Ackah, general manager of FC Samartex.

Prosper Narteh Ogum's reappointment as Asante Kotoko's head coach disappointed Edmund Ackah, General Manager of FC Samartex.

During an interview, Ackah clarified that Ogum had already started recruiting for the team and was scheduled to work for Samartex.

But when Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the owner of Asante Kotoko, brought Ogum back to the club, their intentions were derailed.

"We were to collaborate with Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum. He handled our hiring and preseason planning, but we received a call from His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, a few days after he made his statement," he said to Nhyira FM.

"We were hurt but we did not have any option but to move on," he said.

Samartex was disappointed, but they had to go on and hire a new coach. Led by Nurudeen Amadu, FC Samartex won the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League, clinching the title with two games left after defeating Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0.

After their match against Karela United on Matchday 33, FC Samartex will play a home game against Accra Lions to end their campaign.
