This came after downplaying the idea that the Ghana Premier League isn't as good as it used to be.
The former Asante Kotoko defender confirmed that the Ghanaian top division had excellent players by using Lamptey as an example.
He says it is completely untrue to say that the Ghana Premier League is of poor quality.
"We have good players in the GPL who can compete with players like Ishmael Addo, Opoku Nti, Stephen Oduro, and others. Richmond Lamptey and Stephen Oduro are similar.
Because they were in our league for lengthier periods and because of their popularity, players like Charles Taylor, Malik Jaber, Stephen Oduro, and others are frequently referenced. Nobody, nevertheless, can convince me that the league is of poor caliber.
"The players in the GPL right now are excellent, but because they're always departing the nation, fans can't get enough of them. Given that Oduro has a longer playing history in the local league than Lamptey, Stephen Oduro might have an advantage over the latter. However, Lamptey's future at Kotoko is currently in doubt.
