Eric Donkor
Over the years, several Ghanaians have said that the absence of good players in the country's top division is the reason for their sudden passion for overseas football at the expense of home football.
Donkor, however, has denied such allegations. He is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club, which plays in Eastern Regional Division Two.
"Players like Malik Jaber, Stephen Oduro, Charles Taylor, and the rest had been loved by the public because they were in our league for longer periods, which is why their names are always mentioned," he went on. Nobody, nevertheless, can convince me that the league is of poor caliber.
"The players in the GPL right now are excellent, but because they're always departing the nation, fans can't get enough of them. Because he has played in the local league for a longer period than Lamptey, Stephen Oduro might have an advantage over him, but Lamptey's future at Kotoko is currently in doubt, he concluded.
