Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, bemoaned the effects of Serge Eric Zeze's injury after his team's 2-1 defeat at Golden City Park in Berekum by Berekum Chelsea.

At the news conference held after the game, Ogum called Zeze's injury a "big blow" for the team and emphasized how it would hamper their performance.

Two of the league's top goal scorers, Chelsea's Stephen Amankona and Kotoko's Steven Mukwala scored goals in the first half of the match, ending Kotoko's three-game winning streak.

In the ninetieth minute, Chelsea's Mizack Afriyie scored a crucial header to seal the victory.

"I believe Zeze's injury was a major setback for us, given he has been a key midfield player for some time.

He has gained exposure and experience, but because he had to go, we were forced to make a tactical substitute. For the most part, we were able to sustain the tempo, but eventually, we were unable to do so.

Looking ahead, Kotoko is getting ready to play their next match at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, May 26, against their bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
