    Ghana defeats Mali with much effort, moving up to second place in Group I.

    As of right present, the Black Stars are ranked second in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifying round.

    In the third matchday games at the Stade de 26 Mars, Ghana defeated Mali in a hard-fought victory on Thursday night in Bamako.

    In the forty-fiveth minute, Kamory Doumbia broke the tie, giving the home team a 1-0 lead at the half.

    But Ghana scored twice through Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew after the break to give Otto Addo and his team the crucial three points.

    With the victory, the Black Stars have moved up to the second position in Group I with six points, while Comoros remains at the top with six points plus a goal differential.

    Ghana's victory marks their first away victory since 2022.

    The Black Stars will now get ready for their matchday four encounter at Baba Yara Stadium on June 10 against the Central African Republic.

    The four-time African champions want to qualify for the Mundial, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico
