Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are not large teams, according to Charles Taylor

Former Ghanaian international Charles Taylor Asampong has called Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko "no longer big teams" in response to their dismal showings.

The two most ostentatious clubs in the nation have had difficulty in the current Ghana Premier League 2023–24 season.

Taylor, a player for both teams, believes that the supporters of Hearts of Oak 12 and Asante Kotoko 10, the two major clubs in Ghana, should apologize to their supporters. The two teams are separated by just two points.

"Kotoko and Hearts have both concluded their seasons. He said on Angel TV, "They have to apologize to their fans; they have let them down."

I can now state that Hearts and Kotoko are major clubs, not major teams. They no longer have a team but have established themselves as a club.

It's similar to having two terrible pupils who will always fail. Both Kotoko and Hearts lose when you look at their respective results. The players are not worthy of donning these two clubs' shirts," he continued.

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will play in the Ghana Premier League's Matchday 31 match at Baba Yara Stadium.
