Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has voiced his opinion over the team's current Ghana Premier League hardships.

The Ghanaian powerhouses haven't fared well in the last two seasons, placing outside of the top ten Ghana Premier League teams.

The Phobians finished 14th in the just concluded Ghana Premier League season after placing 12th in the previous two seasons.

Nettey, a current player in Iran, advised the club's management to assemble the ideal team members to revitalize the squad in time for the upcoming season in an interview with DelSoka on YouTube.

We are heading into a new season, so I'm just hoping the right things get done since, as we all know, the club has had some difficult times. "I wasn't really happy considering the Hearts of Oak we left and the Hearts of Oak we get to see now," he remarked.

Since Hearts is more than just a club, I believe we just need to hire the appropriate people. To truly place the club where it belongs, we need the appropriate materials.

"The big guys must do everything in their power to bring the club back to life because it is ours, something we love, and we can't function without. Because we came to meet some of the greatest and tried our hardest to break the 11-year trophy drought, the new players must also give it their all.

"I think the new players have a clear path ahead of them. He replied, "So they should try their hardest, and believe me they will truly enjoy it."
