After Hearts of Oak narrowly avoided relegation in the Ghana Premier League, former board member Frank Nelson has given his word that the team will take all necessary steps to maintain sustainability.
The Phobians had a difficult season despite a strong start to the 2023–24 campaign, which resulted in the firing of head coach
Martin Koopman.
Before the appointment of former Asante Kotoko manager
Aboubakar Ouattara on a two-and-a-half-year contract, assistant coach Abdul Bashiru filled in temporarily. Hearts of Oak finished the season with 45 points, in 14th position despite these changes. On the last day of the season, they staged a thrilling 3-2 comeback against Bechem United to narrowly avoid relegation.
Frank Nelson, discussing the club's predicament, voiced hope that safeguards would need to be put in place to make sure that kind of thing doesn't happen again.
He informed Citi Sports, "The management needs to go over all of their technical reports."
"We're not going to let Accra
Hearts of Oak turn left. We'll stop at nothing to ensure the survival of Hearts of Oak.
