"We have to be confident in front of goals." Ogum states

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, head coach of Asante Kotoko, has urged his team to be clinical and self-assured in front of the goal.

In the matchday 32 games of the ongoing 2023–24 Ghana Premier League season, Kotoko was defeated 1-0 by Great Olympics at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.

After Olympic goalkeeper Benjamin Asare turned away Steven Mukwala's weak penalty shot in the 16th minute, Kotoko was denied a penalty. Dr. Ogum lamented his team's lackluster attack.

"We need to put in more effort than we have, particularly in this game and in the last stages where we must score goals. "I believe we should have more self-assurance when facing the goal," he stated to StarTimes.

"We need to be sure that we hit the ball at the back of the net and once we can do that in our two games left, I’m sure we shall be okay," he stated.

After losing to Bofoakwa Tano at home, Asante Kotoko drops to 10th position in the rankings with 43 points. This weekend, they take on Real Tamale United before finishing their campaign at home against the relegated team.
